Thursdays at 11:00AM in May beginning May 15th

Join us for a four-week generative poetry workshop set inside the inspiring galleries of the Akron Art Museum. With With My Back to the World by Victoria Chang as our guide, we’ll explore themes of art, grief, feminism, and reflection—responding directly to the museum’s vibrant collection.

This beginner-friendly space offers thoughtful prompts, community-centered conversation, and a shared commitment to creating in good company. Come as you are. Leave with new words, deeper awareness, and a renewed creative spark.

This 4-week DAYTIME writing workshop will meet weekly at 11:00AM on Thursdays in May.

Facilitator Bio

Kira Preneta (she, her/they, them) was born just west of Lake Superior and feels most at home near big water. Their writing is often referred to as a gift, a gift they are happy to give and receive. As a mother to 4 children, claiming time for their voice to meet the page is a lesson in inhabiting Liminal.

Kira currently resides in the suburban/rural wilds of the North American Rust Belt, just south of Lake Erie.
