Beloved Taught Me Video Gallery

In honor of our Black History Month programming - Rooted in Blackness - Elizabeth’s Bookshop & Writing Centre is placing special attention towards honoring Toni Morrison’s timeless and essential text, Beloved.

We have collaborated with authors - Mahogany Brown, Hanif Abdurraqib, Candice Iloh, EbonyJanice and Robert Jones Jr. and Staceyann Chin - to read a piece of Beloved, and share what Beloved has taught them.

Beloved Book Drive

With these #BelovedTaughtMe readings, we hoped to inspire folks to connect with Toni Morrison’s work, and our community contributed over 2,000 copies of Beloved to local organizations such as schools, libraries and book banks.

Gift Cards + Sets - Buy Black! Buy Queer!

This Black History month, and always - join us in celebrating the rich and dynamic history of Black Owned Bookshops.

Show your support of Black owned bookstores and the communities they have served over generations - as community hubs, safe spaces for learning and appreciation of literature.

To compliment our catalog of “Rooted in Blackness” programming, the Loveland staff compiled venture specific bookshelves - available via Elizabeth’s online bookshop.
